Police Seek Serial Burglar Who's Committed Crimes In B.A., Claremore, Verdigris

Detectives have checked multiple locations where a thief, who has committed crimes in Broken Arrow, Claremore and Verdigris, is known to stay but haven't found him yet.

Police say the suspect looks for unlocked vehicles and takes purses, credit cards and he's even gotten away with a few handguns.

Claremore Police gave News On 6 surveillance video from inside a QuikTrip that shows the suspect at the counter for a few minutes.

Police say he's using stolen credit cards to buy gift cards.

Detectives say those credit cards were stolen from unlocked vehicles.

"He opens a console, a glove box and rifle[s] through as quick[ly] as he can," explained Claremore Deputy Chief Charles Downum.

Chief Downum says he's gotten away with purses, wallets, a pocket knife and three handguns.

"Our belief is he is into drugs and seeking his drug of choice at this point and trying to sell everything he can for money or drugs," said Downum.

Police believe his crime spree continued in Verdigris.

Officers gave News On 6 video from a neighbor's surveillance camera which captured him opening up a car door and looking through it.

Police say he then headed to another QuikTrip to use the stolen credit cards.

Days later, Broken Arrow Police released a picture of a burglary suspect who detectives say used a stolen credit card at a gas station there.

Investigators in all three cities believe the burglaries are connected.

"Pretty sure it's the same gentlemen; we are just trying to locate him," said Verdigris Police Chief Jack Shackelford.

Investigators know the suspect's name but aren't releasing it yet.

Police have checked houses in Rogers, Tulsa and Wagoner county where he's been known to stay, but haven't found him yet.

In the meantime, they are gathering evidence that will likely link him to the crimes.

"[In] one car he cut his hand, so we will have DNA once we get him in custody," Chief Downum.

Detectives say one of the stolen handguns was found in Tulsa, but he could still have the other two on him.
