Father Charged With Son's Death Appears In Tulsa Court

A Sapulpa man charged with murder in the death of his 5-year-old son was bound over for arraignment Tuesday.

Bryon Keith Creech waived his right to a preliminary hearing and will return to court Monday, January 11, 2016.

Creech was arrested in March 2015 after a 17-hour standoff with police at the Riverchase Apartments. Authorities say he brought his son Braden to his estranged wife's apartment while she was at work and barricaded himself and the child inside.

Police worked overnight to get him to surrender. The ex-Marine fired at police and shot his son, according to court documents.

When he left the apartment, authorities recovered the boy's body inside.

The 37-year-old man faces several charges including first-degree murder, kidnapping, shooting with intent to kill, child abuse by injury, and child neglect.
