Authorities evacuated residents from an RV park at the Chouteau Bend Recreational Area in Mayes County Tuesday morning.

The park is located just off Highway 412 at the Neosho River.

Mayes County Emergency Management said rescuers had taken 10 people from the RV park as of 10:35 a.m.  The only exit from the park is flooded and rescuers used boats to get people out.

Officials say some of those who left are going to a shelter, others are staying with their families.

Officials say several residents have elected to stay in the park.  They say power to RV park has been turned off as a precaution.

Mayes County Sheriff's deputies, MESTA ambulance, GRDA police and Mayes County Emergency Management were on scene assisting with the rescue effort.
