Group Cleans Up Stretch Of Arkansas River Near Downtown Tulsa

Crews got to work bright and early Saturday morning cleaning up an area of the Arkansas River near downtown Tulsa.

The Oklahoma River Warriors debuted what they hope will become an organized statewide effort to cleanup streams and rivers across Oklahoma.

The group started near 71st and Riverside,  where litter tends to gather.

"This is just a quarter-mile stretch we are trying to pick up today so it is important that you start cleaning up after yourself,” OK River Warriors President Scott Hood said.

The program hopes to spread by finding local groups interested in organizing similar cleanups on their own local waterways.
