Bixby star running back Nic Roller was arrested Friday at Bixby High school for possession of marijuana and a controlled dangerous substance.
According to Roller's Arrest and Booking Report, the Bixby Police Department was notified at around 2:30 p.m. about possible drug activity on school grounds by Bixby High School Administration.
The arresting officer says upon arrival to the assistant principal's office he was advised that Roller was suspected of possessing drugs. According to the report, an investigation by the school turned up a small bag of Marijuana (in Roller's front pants pocket) and a pill bottle containing Vicodin (in his book bag) that was turned over to the officer.
"Nic isn't this type of kid," says a source close to Roller and his family. "He'll make amends and do whatever he can to make it right." Another source close to the family says that Roller is a sweet and quiet kid who wouldn't normally exhibit this behavior.
This season, Roller carried the Spartans back to 6A-II championship play with a monster performance against Bartlesville. Against the Bruins, he rushed for 209 yards on 35 carries and scored a school-record seven touchdowns.
Soon after, Roller led Bixby to its second straight 6A-II state title. In the Spartans 38-28 win over Sand Springs, Roller scored four touchdowns.
