Tulsa Gilcrease Division officers received a donation from Carnegie Elementary School. Carnegie Principal Robin Emerson and staff donated funds for children's books officers will give to kids in crisis.

Captain Steve Odom and Officer Derrick Alexander accepted the donation from Emerson and Carnegie Media Specialist Michael Stokley Monday.

“Carnegie is excited about our new Reading Buddies program," Stokley said.

"In order to promote reading among kids in need in the Tulsa area, we would like to take a portion of the proceeds from Carnegie’s Scholastic Book Fair and purchase books for the Gilcrease Division.”

TPD thanked the school in a post on Facebook.
