Thunder Fan Sinks Half-Court Shot For $20K Jackpot

An Oklahoma City Thunder fan is celebrating more than his team's victory over the Utah Jazz on Sunday.

Shane McKinzie of Stillwater won $20,000 for sinking a half-court shot during the MidFirst Bank Shot contest promotion at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Shane said his girlfriend, Lindsay Beckman, gave him a Thunder hoodie as a Christmas present on Sunday and told him they were going to the game. He said they had to be talked into taking part in the shot, but agreed to do it when the Thunder PR staff told them about the jackpot. Once on the court, Shane said the crowd started to get loud and that inspired him.

The Thunder said it's the first time in more than two years a fan has hit the half-court shot.

The Thunder, which had been trailing for most of the game, seemed to catch fire after Shane's basket and went on to beat Utah 104-98.
