Law enforcement is searching for a murder suspect who broke out of the Muskogee County jail late Sunday.
Jail administrators say Paul Newberry, 24, of Park Hill escaped with another inmate at about 10:25 p.m. by breaking out a security window, climbing up to the roof, then jumping to the ground.
Deputies say the other inmate, Raymond Noriega, 36, of Wilburton was captured a short time later in Muskogee. He was being held on a charges of uttering a forged instrument.
Paul Newberry was arrested in late July for the murder of Keys rancher Charley Kirk, 88, during a burglary. Cherokee County authorities say Newberry confessed to the burglary and the shooting.

He was being held for Cherokee County in the Muskogee County jail. He is charged with first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and robbery with a firearm.
