Man Dies Following Tulsa House Fire

A man is dead after an overnight house fire in Tulsa. Crews responded to the home near Pine and Lewis just after 2 a.m. Saturday.

Initially firefighters thought the home was abandoned but then realized someone was living inside. The front door was bolted shut, and firefighters broke through windows to get into the house.

When they got the man out he was treated for smoke inhalation and then sent to the hospital. Crews worked to revive him, but he died at the hospital.

Tulsa firefighters urge residents to have working smoke detectors in their homes. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
