Tulsa Man Charged With With Child Abuse Murder

The Tulsa County District Attorney's Office has filed formal charges against a Tulsa man accused of killing a 16-month-old girl.

Cody Alan Johnson was charged Friday with child abuse murder, two counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12 and child neglect in the death of Sawyer Paige Jefferson.

Johnson is charged with using unreasonable force on the child causing fatal bleeding and swelling of the brain. The baby also suffered detached retina, extensive bruising to her face, ears and mouth, court records show.

The 30-year-old man is also charged with sexual abuse and failing to seek timely medical care for her when she was in his care.
