Tuesday, the Gilcrease Museum entertained a bunch of first graders as part of the Any Give Child Tulsa program.
Students, teachers and volunteers from Dual Language Immersion and Emerson Elementary got to take part in the fun.
The groups were divided up - some got a tour of the museum where they discussed the art and what's happening in the paintings they saw.
While that was going on, the other groups worked through a hands-on art project.
Any Given Child Tulsa is a program through the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
"Their focus is to bring art and arts experiences to all TPS children grades K-8," said Sarah Wright with Gilcrease Museum.
There are 16 other cities across the nation participating in the program.
In Tulsa, the Arts and Humanities Council, the city, plus the Schusterman Family Foundation along with a dozen or so arts organizations, partner to produce a different arts experience each year for elementary and middle school kids.
Any Given Child Tulsa provides a different art experience at each grade level; Gilcrease gets the first graders, and by the time they finish eighth grade the kids will have had a different art experience each year.
