A man was dead inside his minivan in a hotel parking lot; the medical examiner said someone shot the man in the neck and left him to die.

Police got a call Saturday night about an abandoned minivan at a hotel near 31st and Memorial. When officers and first responders arrived they found Jeromy Ingram dead inside his minivan with the doors left open.

Samantha Bryan said she can't believe someone killed her friend and former roommate over the weekend, she said all of his family and friends are sharing memories of his life.
"His presence was always known," she said.
Friends and loved ones call Ingram a caring and loving person. He's remembered for volunteering at several nonprofit organizations and being an avid runner.
The Medical Examiner's Office told police Ingram died Saturday from a bullet wound to the neck.
Sergeant Dave Walker said they don't yet know who's responsible for killing Ingram and that surveillance footage is slim.
“It just so happens where that van was parked and where Mr. Ingram was located is in such an area that we don't have real good video evidence to look at, so we really don't know what happened," Walker said.
He said Ingram was last seen alive around 5:00 Saturday evening.
Homicide detectives spent much of Sunday interviewing friends, family and coworkers to find out why he went to the hotel parking lot.
Police said they still don’t have a motive for the murder, but Ingram’s friend said she had a message for the killer.
"I would want them to know that justice needs to be served and, as his friends and his family, we will do everything possible to make this right," Bryan said.
Police are asking anyone who may have information to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
A memorial fund has been established for Ingram. You can help here.
