The News On 6 WARN Team says there is potential for freezing rain Friday morning across Osage, Pawnee and Payne counties as a cold, wet storm system makes its way across the state.
Heavy rains are expected to develop west of Tulsa by Thursday afternoon and slowly move eastward during the evening.
The WARN team says local amounts of rain in excess of 5 inches southeast of I-44 will be possible by late Thursday and Friday morning with some dangerous flash flooding potential during the rest of the day.
The freezing rain isn't expected to impact roads on Friday because ground temperatures are still warm. But that is expected to change by Saturday morning with some slick spots developing on roads and bridges.
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Thursday evening through Saturday afternoon for all of eastern Oklahoma.
