A small rally was held on the 41st Street overpass in Tulsa today to protest Syrian refugees being brought to the United States for asylum.

The group got some supportive honks and also some heckles from passersby.

The group wants veterans to be made a priority before refugees.

"We're out here to try and wake America up to the fact that it is not safe and it is not a good idea to let all these refugees come in,” demonstrator Anthony Gunter said. “We got veterans that need to come first."

The group was made up of mainly militia and resistance group members holding American flags and versions of the confederate flag.

Signs held showed support for veterans as well as urging the government not to show support to refugees. One sign said: "Stop the invasion."
