Earthquake Rattles Tulsa, Surrounding Area

<p>The quake hit at 4:40 p.m. and preliminary reports put its magnitude at 4.6.</p>

A strong earthquake shook the ground in Tulsa and surrounding areas Friday afternoon.

The quake hit at 4:40 p.m. and preliminary reports set its magnitude at 4.6. It was centered near Medford.

Several people felt it at the News On 6 studios in downtown Tulsa. Hundreds of News On 6 Facebook followers from south Tulsa to Collinsville, Bartlesville and even Wichita, Kansas reported feeling it, too.

Crystal Reed wrote, "3rd and Boulder downtown and whew-it was strong. Felt like someone was shaking my office chair."

"Alone in my church in Sperry, and WOW did it shake!!" wrote Renee Day.

So far no one has reported any injuries or damage. It was followed by a 3.9 magnitude quake at 4:55 p.m.
