Tulsa Police are investigating after a teenager was shot in the face. Authorities were called to a mobile home park near 87th and Lewis on reports of shots fired around 10:45 p.m. Friday.
They didn't find a victim, but witnesses said they saw two vehicles speeding off after the gunshots. As police were searching the mobile home park, another officer saw an SUV he thought might be involved outside the Country Hollow apartment complex at 4800 East 80th Street.
While the officer waited for backup, he saw two men run from the car. The 17-year-old shooting victim was found inside the GMC Jimmy. He was taken to the hospital where he's expected to recover.
The police helicopter and a K9 team were called out to search, but they haven't found the two men yet who ran from the SUV.
Police believe an unknown vehicle pulled up next to the victim's SUV and fired several shots. They're still investigating to learn if and how the men were connected.
If you have any information that can help police with their investigation, call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
