Man Struck, Killed As He Crossed Tulsa Street

Police say a 53-year-old man crossing a Tulsa street is dead after he was hit by a car early Thursday.

It happened at the intersection of 31st Street and 129th East Avenue just before 5 a.m.

Police said the William Knight had just had an argument with his girlfriend when he crossed 129th East Avenue when a 2008 Ford Focus headed south struck him.  Knight was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the driver, Ruth Victory had the green light and the Knight was wearing headphones  

Officers closed the 129th East Avenue for about an hour while they investigated. Officers said the driver was shaken up but not injured, adding she was not cited in the accident.
