People in the community of Oologah are rallying around one of the victims of the OSU homecoming parade tragedy.

Sheri Bates, 49, has worked at a bank in Oologah for years. She had gone to the parade to watch her daughter march with the Oologah High School band.

Her family said Bates received a head injury and was in critical condition. They said doctors expect her to survive but she'll likely be in intensive care in an Oklahoma City hospital for at least another week.

The family has set up a gofundme account to raise money to help pay expenses, including a hotel room and travel.

The Bates family said her employer, Lakeside State Bank in Oologah, is accepting donations on her behalf. The family said the bank set up an account for them without being asked.

Anyone can donate to the Sheri Bates Benefit Fund at the bank.
