OHP: Hominy Teen Critical After Falling Out Of Truck On Highway 20

A 16-year-old Hominy boy is in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital after he fell out of a moving vehicle on a state highway, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol says.

The teenager was a passenger in a 2001 Ford F250 driven by a 17-year-old Hominy boy. The incident took place about 9 p.m. on Oklahoma 20 near County Road 1625 in Osage County, about 5 miles from Hominy city limits.

According to the OHP report, the truck was eastbound on Oklahoma 20 when the teen “fell out of the vehicle and landed on the shoulder of the highway.”

There were two other passengers – a 15-year-old girl from Wynona and a 15-year-old boy from Hominy. OHP withheld the names of everyone involved because they are juveniles.

None of the occupants were wearing seat belts, the investigating trooper said. The report says the condition of the driver was apparently normal.

The boy was transported by medical helicopter to Tulsa with leg and trunk internal injuries, the trooper wrote.
