Woman Struck While Walking On Highway 66 Near Sapulpa

Police say a woman walking on Highway 66 southwest of Tulsa towards Sapulpa was struck by a pickup early Tuesday.

Sapulpa Police said the incident happened just south of West 81st Street South at about 2 a.m. The unidentified 40-year-old woman was taken to a Tulsa hospital with what police said were life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the pickup told police he did not see the woman until the last second and attempted to swerve but the passenger side mirror struck her. 

Police said the woman was wearing dark clothing and may have just left a nearby bar.
