Dispute Over Car Lands Tulsa Ex-Con In Jail

Tulsa police rescued a woman after she and her husband were held at gunpoint. Authorities say the whole thing happened over a car.

A man identified as Justin Krause traded cars with a couple but was apparently unhappy with the deal, records show.

Police say the groups met on North Columbia around 11 p.m. Krause pulled a sawed-off shotgun on the couple and forced them into their vehicle.  
He had them drive him to the 1300 block of North Irvington Avenue, taking the husband's cell phone during the drive.

Officers say they were responding to a call in that area and were told what Krause was doing. They pulled him over as he tried to leave the area.

Police say Krause had let the husband go but kept the female victim with him when he was arrested. Officers were able to rescue her and recovered the shotgun.

A search of the Oklahoma Department of Corrections website shows Krause, 24, has multiple convictions for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Krause was arrested and booked on multiple complaints including kidnapping, robbery with a firearm, pointing a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond was set at $200,150.
