The McIntosh County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 70-year-old man who has been missing nearly two weeks. Toney "Mikel" Young wandered away from his home five miles west of Checotah near Interstate 40 and Lotawatah Road, according to a news release.

Authorities say Young has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and other health issues.

“We have searched high and low for Mr. Young,” said McIntosh County Deputy Scott Pelley. “We believe he has some limited outdoor survival skills and regularly hikes in the areas near his home, but we still have no signs of him in the places he frequents.”

Young was last seen wearing jean shorts and a blue button-up shirt. He is believed to be wearing a cross necklace and carrying a large walking stick.

The Oklahoma Wing of the Civil Air Patrol is assisting with the search.

If anyone has seen or thinks they may have seen Young, contact the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office at 918-689-2526.
