Police say a man wanting to buy a cell phone was robbed after meeting a seller at a store parking Wednesday night.

Officers said the victim had posted his request for a cell phone on Craigslist and arranged to meet a seller at the Walmart Neighborhood Market in the 3100 block of South Harvard.

The victim told police the seller got out of a beige Chevy Malibu and showed the victim what was supposedly an unlocked cell phone. As the victim got out his money, the seller pushed him, grabbed the money and ran.

The Malibu also drove away, but the victim said it suddenly turned around and tried to run him down, according to police. Officers said the victim wasn't hurt.

The victim told police there appeared to be four to five people in the Malibu. Police said the victim was able to give officers only a partial license tag number.
