Police arrested a Tulsa man they say led them on a chase early Tuesday.

It began when an officer ran a check on a suspicious vehicle in the 6700 block of East Latimer Place at about midnight. While following the Chevy Tahoe, the officer learned it had been reported stolen out of Sapulpa.

When police attempted to stop the SUV it took off, heading south on North Sheridan. They finally stopped it in the 8500 block of East Admiral Place where the ramp to Interstate 244 was closed.

They arrested the driver, 30-year-old Everet Warren.

Police found a handgun they said Warren had tossed out the window during the chase.

They booked Everet Warren into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of eluding, possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a firearm. Jail records show he is being held on $31,500 bond with a court appearance set for October 6. Records show he is also being held on a U.S. Marshals' warrant.

The Chevy Tahoe was returned to its owner.
