A Green Country couple is shooting a pilot for a program on the Home and Garden cable channel (HGTV).
They bought and restored a century-old house in Broken Arrow and put a home decor store inside.
Nick and Jaime Parker say their whole lives have brought them to the home built in 1910 on Broken Arrow’s Main Street.
“Now we look back and say, ‘Duh’,” said Nick Parker.
Nick brings homes back to life. Jamie decorates.
They bought the home on Main Street two years ago, saving it from demolition and reviving it as a home for their family of seven. But their dream of owning a store just kept resurfacing.
“God kind of planted that on our hearts, the vision long ago, and we just never knew the time,” said Jaime.
It took less than half a year to develop “Restore House” - a rustic, boho, architectural design store, where you can get a cup of coffee for 25 cents.
“I think it’s just a fun place to come and I think everyone will walk away with something because I think it fits several niches,” said Jaime.
But the couple will continue restoring homes for Broken Arrow families who appreciate making what’s old new.
“You don’t get that over-developed, commercial feel when you walk down Main Street Broken Arrow, and that’s one of the things we were drawn to,” said Nick.
“I want a house that has a story, and you know, and then I can add to that story and continue it with my family being there,” continued Jaime.
The store opens October 1, at 10 a.m.
