A Tulsa Police Fraud detective says a loss  prevention employee - whose job is to catch people who are stealing from the store -  at a Ross Dress For Less store has been arrested for stealing from his employers.

Police say Anthony Michael Aldaco accessed some keys to the back room and store safe at the 71st and Memorial location. He turned off the alarm using someone else’s code, opened the safe and  removed $36,000 cash, according to police.

He then took the security hard drive and put it in the microwave. Aldaco reportedly told police he'd seen that trick on TV. In his hurry to leave; however, he forgot to turn on the microwave so the hard drive was not fried as intended.

When police confronted him and told him that part, they say he admitted what he’d done and where he hid the money. Authorities say the money was still in the bag, hidden in a wooded area near his house.

Aldaco, 21, was arrested Monday night on one complaint of grand larceny. He is in Tulsa County Jail.
