Tulsa firefighters responded to the Somerset Park at Union apartments for a fire Monday morning that investigators say was deliberately set.

The complex is in the 9400 block of East 65th Street, near Mingo.

Investigators said a man having a mental illness episode set the fire during an argument with his father. The father called police and nearby motorcycle officers quickly detained the 30-year-old suspect.

The man was questioned and was taken into custody for first-degree arson and endangering human lives. He has been identified as Jordan Alex Schupp.

Fire and smoke were billowing from a second story apartment when firefighters arrived. One apartment was damaged by fire and as many of seven other units were affected by smoke and water.

No one was injured.

The Tulsa Area Red Cross has been called to the complex to help displaced residents.
