The mother of a 13-year old murder suspect says her son is innocent. Dorothy Reddick stands by her teenage son, Dinero, who remains jailed on a child abuse murder complaint.
The 2-year-old victim in the case, was Dinero Reddick's cousin. He's in jail for the murder of Charity Simmons - a child who detectives say had severe injuries that can't be explained as a simple accident.
Dorothy Reddick has a simple message about her son.
"No I don't believe that - my son is not a monster," she said.
She's talking about Dinero, her 13 year old, who should be in 7th grade but instead is in jail. He was living temporarily with this woman, 31-year-old Christina Simmons, the mother of 2-year-old Charity Simmons, who died June 26th.
Police say she went out for the night while Dinero watching Charity. The family says at 4:20 in the morning, he realized she wasn't breathing.
"I do not know why she was unresponsive at that time, but we do know that earlier in the day she fell off the bunk bed and bumped her head, and she immediately started vomiting after that," said Dorothy Reddick, Dinero's mother.

But Police say the little girl had signs of abuse - a bite mark, bruises all over, one of them shaped like a shoe. The medical examiners report isn't finished, but the district attorney has charged Dinero with murder, and Charity's mother with neglect.
Christina Simmons has since bonded out of jail.
"I know she has information that could prove my sons innocence; Christina was there while Charity was playing with her two brothers on the bunk bed, and Charity fell," Dorothy Reddick said.
The death, followed by the arrest of the mother and the cousin has the family searching for answers from each other. Reddick's mom - who says he's not doing well in isolation at the jail - just wants the information to clear her son; she believes there's abuse in the family that is being covered up.
"There's a lot of pieces to this story that's not adding up, but in terms of whether my son hurt Charity, our cousin, he did not," she said.
The Tulsa Police child crisis unit investigated the case. Detectives there say the mother won't let them talk with Dinero to explain what happened, but they believe Charity had a severe injury that wasn't from falling off a bunk bed.
He's still in jail, with a legal process that's just beginning.
