A pregnant woman lost her life when she was thrown from her truck in Okmulgee County.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the 2007 Chevy truck driven by 25-year-old Amberly Barrett failed to take a curve around 10:00 Monday morning on Dustin Road near Creek Mine Road in Okmulgee County.
Investigators said the truck departed the road to the right, then, crossed both lanes of traffic when Barrett overcorrected and departed to the left.
The report says the truck rolled an unknown amount of times. It says Barrett was thrown from the truck before it landed on the passenger side.
OHP said Barrett was taken to the Hillcrest Hospital in Henryetta. They said she was pronounced dead with head, internal and external trunk and arm and leg injuries.
The report says the baby was delivered at the hospital but passed away.
OHP also said a 5-year-old boy was in the truck. It says he was treated and released.
According to the report, Barrett was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash and no child restraint was in use for the 5-year-old passenger.
