Five Republicans and two Democrats are running for a state Senate seat left open by a former senator who pleaded guilty to federal charges.

Five Republicans and two Democrats are running for a state Senate seat left open by a former senator who pleaded guilty to federal charges.

The three-day filing period for the District 34 seat in northeast Tulsa County ended Wednesday.

Five Republicans and two Democrats filed for the post. 

Republican

  • Greg Douglass, 52, of Owasso
  • David McLain, 45, of Skiatook
  • Chuck Daugherty, 68, of Collinsville
  • Mark Williams, 67, of Owasso
  • John Ferry, 38, of Owasso 

Democrat

  • J.J. Dossett, 31, of Sperry
  • Lisa Franklin, 44, of Owasso

A primary election will be held November 10 and the general election will be on January 12.
