The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a Tulsa man's body has been recovered from Fort Gibson Lake in Cherokee County. Troopers say a man went into the water just before 8 p.m. Saturday and never resurfaced.

It took place near Paradise Cove.

One viewer told News On 6 authorities were asking campers if they'd seen the man.

The search resumed Sunday morning. The body of David Villicana-Lopez, 38, was pulled from the water after a dragging operation about 1:30 p.m. The area was 11-feet deep.

Troopers say Villicana-Lopez jumped off a stationary vessel and began to struggle in the water. Witnesses jumped in to rescue him, but their efforts were not successful.
