A teenager has been arrested in the death of a 2-year-old girl.
Police say Charity Simmons died in June after her 13-year-old cousin, Dinero Reddick, went door to door with the unresponsive toddler asking for help.
Now, reports say he’s been charged with child abuse murder for Charity’s death.
Police say Charity had massive abusive injuries. Officers arrested the mother, Christina Renee Simmons, on a child abuse complaint. They say the child was left alone with Reddick while Simmons was out.
At the time, police arrested the girl’s mother, Christina Simmons, on a child abuse charge.
According to investigators, Simmons left Charity in the care of Reddick, and during that time Charity became unresponsive.
