Settlement With Former State Senator Accused Of Embezzlement Approved

Friday, the Oklahoma Ethics Commission approved a settlement agreement with Owasso State Senator Rick Brinkley over allegations he misused campaign cash.

Friday, the Oklahoma Ethics Commission approved a settlement agreement with Owasso State Senator Rick Brinkley over allegations he misused campaign cash.

His campaign finance report shows Brinkley paid nearly $50,000 to the Tulsa Better Business Bureau from his campaign fund.

The BBB accuses Brinkley in a lawsuit of embezzling almost $2 million while serving as president of the non-profit.

Brinkley agreed in the settlement agreement to give up the remaining balance of his campaign account, about $81,000.

Brinkley is resigning from the state senate at the end of the year.

He's not been charged.
