Tulsa police have confirmed a man was shot early Saturday evening near Pine and Yale.

Police said the victim is in his late 20s and was transported to a local hospital in an unknown condition about 7:30 p.m. His gunshot wound is on his buttocks, according to police.

Police say it all started when passengers in an SUV and another vehicle began having an argument with residents at a home. At some point, the group exchanged gunfire, police say.

One of the men in the vehicle reportedly began to run away, and when he took off, he was hit in the buttocks by gunfire. Both the SUV and the car left the area and police are following leads, according to TPD Cpl. Dan Miller.

Several houses also were hit with bullets. Kids normally are outside playing in the neighborhood in the 1200 block of North Winston at that time, according to a neighbor.

No other injuries were reported.
