Clothes and shoes under $100 are tax-free this weekend, and police are stepping up security measures in anticipation of Christmas in August.

Tax-Free Shopping Weekend Underway In Oklahoma

Oklahoma's tax-free shopping weekend kicked off Friday and runs through Sunday. You can save on all the clothes and shoes you buy, as long as the ticket price is under $100.

Woodland Hills Mall calls this time of year Christmas in August, and shoppers can earn a free gift, depending on how much they spend.

"Every year we reward our shoppers with a gift with purchase. So, for every $250 they spend, they get a $25 American Express gift card in return," said Jodi Coch of Woodland Hills Mall.

Tulsa Police say they'll have extra officers patrolling Woodland Hills, the 41st and Yale retail corridor, Utica Square and Tulsa Hills this weekend.
