A Claremore man is dead following a rollover wreck on Highway 20 near Owasso Friday morning. Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating the fatality wreck.
Brian A. Cain was driving a Toyota Sequoyah SUV westbound on the highway near North 191st Place when he came up behind a dump truck in the right lane, according to a trooper at the scene.
Cain, driving at a high rate of speed, swerved to avoid a minivan which was also westbound in the left lane of Highway 20, according to a collision report. He swerved to avoid the minivan but clipped its right bumper.
The OHP said Cain, 37, lost control of his vehicle and went off the road.
The SUV rolled several times,coming to rest on its top. Cain, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from vehicle. He taken to the hospital but did not survive his head injuries, according to authorities.
The woman driving the minivan, 42-year-old Doris Cravens of Collinsville, was shaken up but not hurt, troopers said.
A collision report states Cain was going at a high rate of speed when the crash took place. His condition before the wreck is still under investigation.
