Bill Blankenship Joins Memphis Football Staff

Former University of Tulsa head coach Bill Blankenship is joining the staff at Memphis as an offensive analyst.

Memphis head coach Justin Fuente played quarterback for Blankenship at Union High School in the 1990s, and he also hired former TU defensive coordinator Brent Guy as a position coach earlier this year.

Blankenship has been reviewing video from home, and he will leave for Memphis next week.

He coached Tulsa for four years before being fired in December after a 2-10 season, but he was named Conference USA's coach of the year in 2012 after leading the Golden Hurricane to an 11-3 record and a Liberty Bowl win.
