A Sands Springs event took some of the pressure off local parents who have children returning to school this month. The Back-to-School Bash runs through 2 p.m. Saturday at the Tulsa Technology Center campus in Sand Springs.

Students were able to line up for free haircuts and school supplies to start out the school year right. They also enjoyed games and a chance to meet Sand Springs police and firefighters who helped out at the event.

The community outreach program was sponsored by several churches in Sand Springs including Fisher Baptist, Sand Springs United Methodist, Harvest Church, Olivet Baptist, Crosspoint, Trinity Baptist, HillSpring Church and Sand Springs First Assembly.

Brent Kellogg, Senior pastor at HillSpring Church, shared some photos from the event.
