A police chase Wednesday evening ended after a crash and the arrests of two people in the car.

Police said their helicopter crew noticed a suspicious vehicle in a field on 41st near 145th East Avenue. When officers on the ground went to investigate, the 2010 Nissan Altima sped off.

Because the car reached such high speed, police said officers on the ground backed off and let the helicopter follow the car. It crashed through several back yards in the 3100 block of South 129th East Avenue a short time later.

According to police, the two people in the car, Deaon Stoddard, 28, and Danielle Bell, 25, ran away. Police arrested them after a short foot chase.

They booked Deaon Stoddard into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding and drug possession. They booked Danielle Bell on complaints of possession of a stolen vehicle and interfering with a police officer.

Jail records show Stoddard was being held $23,000 bond and Bell on $8,500 bond.  Both have a court appearance set for August 5.
