Man Shot To Death During Fight, Tulsa Police Identify Suspect, Victim

A man died moments after being shot inside a home early Thursday, according to Tulsa Police.

Tulsa Police have identified the man they believe shot another man during a fight Thursday morning.

Police got the call at 5:15 a.m. about a shooting in the 2600 block of East Newton Place near North Utica. They found a man's body lying in the street.

They identify the suspect as Jose Tyler Vaught, 22.

According to police the victim got into a fight inside the home when Vaught pulled a gun and fired at the victim more than once. Officers said the victim ran out of the house and collapsed in the street.

Police say Jose Tyler Vaught is 5' 10" and weighs 155 pounds. They say he was wearing a black shirt and black pants when he ran from the scene. He is armed with a small-caliber handgun, according to police.

Tulsa Police identified the victim Thursday afternoon as 20-year-old Joey Aguirre.

DOC records show Aguirre was released from prison July 10, 2015. Records show he was convicted for burglary, unauthorized use of a vehicle and possession of a firearm.
