The grand jury has been selected for the investigation into the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office, and now citizens are being asked to weigh in.
Fifteen people – twelve jurors and three alternates – were selected after Judge Rebecca Nightingale asked potential jurors questions offered by both the sheriff, and We The People Oklahoma.
We The People Oklahoma Attorney Laurie Phillips said the grand jury is diverse and is pleased with selection. The sheriff has not released a statement on the jury selection.

The grand jury will now set its own meeting schedule and will refer to Okmulgee County District Attorney Rob Barris for advice on the investigative process.
While the shooting of Eric Harris and accusations of special treatment for Reserve Deputy Bob Bates prompted calls for the grand jury investigation, people in Tulsa County can submit their own questions to the grand jury.
Those interested can write their suggestions and mail it in a sealed envelope to:
Rob Barris, District 25 District Attorney
Grand Jury Bailiff
Tulsa County Courthouse, 6th Floor, Rm. 637
500 S. Denver Ave.

The submissions should include the address and phone contacts of the person submitting the request, so the grand jury may contact the person for more information.
