Firefighters say a lightning strike may be to blame for heavy damage at a Glenpool home early Tuesday.
Firefighters were called to the home 178th Street South near Union shortly after 4 a.m.
Homeowner Michael Kirksey says his wife woke up, smelled smoke and found a fire burning in the garage. He says she got their son and him out before the Glenpool Fire Department arrived.
Kirksey says the fire damaged a vehicle parked in the garage as well as a car parked outside. He says they are now staying with relatives.
Firefighters are still trying to determine the cause. They say power was out to the home yesterday and that may have played a part.
