Interstate 244 is open again after a dump truck with a raised bed struck the 23rd Street bridge overnight.

The crash happened at 3:30 a.m.

Troopers said the 2007 Peterbilt was northbound on Interstate 244 when the raised trailer struck the 23rd Street bridge. They said the impact knocked the bed off the trailer and wedged it under the bridge.

They said the driver, 47-year-old James Molten of Claremore, was stable when paramedics took him to a Tulsa hospital. Troopers said he was wearing a seat belt when the bed hit the bridge.

The OHP closed one lane of 244 for about two and a half hours so the dump bed could be removed and the Oklahoma Department of Transportation could check the bridge for damage.
