The city of Tulsa has received 100 new Keep America Beautiful recycling bins through a special grant to place across the city.

Officials announced Friday, Tulsa was awarded a 2015 Coca-Cola Foundation/Keep America Beautiful grant.

“The new bins will give us the ability to provide more recycling opportunities in public spaces that would not be possible without the grant,” Keri Fothergill, City of Tulsa Refuse and Recycling Coordinator said.

“We will be looking at locations within the city, such as Mohawk Soccer Complex and Tulsa Parks recreation centers.”

Currently, Tulsa has recycling bins at about 90 municipal locations like city parks and athletic complexes.

As part of the grant, officials say the city will keep track the quantity of recyclables collected from new bins.
