Boil Advisory: McAlester Drinking Water Deemed Unsafe

A boil advisory has been issued for drinking water supplied by the McAlester Public Works Authority.

The city says it issued the order because of traces of E. Coli found in the water system.

All residents who use this water system are advised to bring water to a full, rolling boil for at least a minute before all uses. 

The city says the boil advisory will be in effect until further notice.
