Blue Bell Ice Cream could be on some store shelves before the end of the summer.
A Dallas radio station confirmed Blue Bell will start trial runs of making ice cream at its Alabama plant on July 20th.
Back in March, the company shut down production at all its plants, including the one in Broken Arrow, after some of its products were found to be contaminated with listeria.
Since then, Blue Bell has undergone extensive cleaning at its facilities and new training for all employees.
The company has agreements with Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma that it will go through a "trial testing" period before allowing any of its products to be put back on store shelves.
We checked with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture and it has been contacted by Blue Bell but so far there is no start date for the trial period for the Broken Arrow plant.
