An examination of Archie Bradley's pitching shoulder by world-renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews did not find major damage, but the former Broken Arrow star is expected to be sidelined for the next 2-4 weeks, a source close to the situation told News On 6.
Bradley, who hasn't pitched in the big leagues since June 1, requested a second opinion from Dr. Andrews after having shoulder discomfort after a minor league rehab start June 24.
The examination from Dr. Andrews did not find structural damage to the labrum or the rotator cuff, but found impingement in the top of the shoulder. Dr. Andrews' findings match an evaluation from Diamondbacks team doctors earlier last week.
Bradley is expected to undergo a dye injection when he returns to Arizona to rule out any additional issues.
The Diamondbacks placed him on the disabled list with shoulder tendinitis back on June 4.
