Muskogee Man Should Get 45 Years In Prison For Lip Bite, Jury Recommends

Jurors in the trial of a Muskogee man charged with biting off part of a woman's lip found him guilty Tuesday. 

Clyde Fields, 47, was charged in October 2014 with maiming. Following a two day trial, the jury also recommended Fields be sentenced to 45 years in prison.

MuskogeeNow.com says a police report at the the time stated Fields bit "a big square" out of his girlfriend's bottom lip.

Oklahoma Department of Corrections records shows Fields has served time in prison previously for several convictions out of Muskogee County. The list includes drug possession, burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle. 

He currently is out on parole for a 1995 burglary conviction. 

Fields is scheduled to be formally sentenced in August.
