A man who told police he was trying to recover property stolen from his parents ended up being arrested for burglary and assault.
Tulsa Police said the case began when the man tracked a stolen iPad to a Tulsa address. A person at the address gave him the iPad and told him where he could find more property that had been taken from him.
He told police he and two friends went to the home near 15th Street and South 217th East Avenue to get the rest of the property. According to police, the three forced their way into the home and ended up assaulting the man who lives there with a baseball bat they found inside.
Police said they then left with some jewelry.
Officers found out about the incident when the man called and arranged to meet them at the QuikTrip at 193rd East Avenue and Admiral to tell them what happened and explain why he thought he was in the right.
Police booked him into the Wagoner County jail. They're now looking for the other two men.
Officers said the victim's injuries weren't serious.
