A teenager was hospitalized after jumping off a bridge while running from police. Authorities said it happened after a carjacking around 11 p.m. Saturday near Mohawk Boulevard and Delaware.

Police say a man walked up to a Cadillac Fleetwood at the U-Stop Convenience Store and asked the driver for a ride. Once the man was in the car, he pulled out a gun and demanded the driver's money.

The victim handed over his wallet then ran. Police say the thief fired a shot at the man but missed him. Tulsa Police pulled the stolen Cadillac over a short time later in the 3200 block of East Highway 11.

The front seat passenger, a 14-year-old boy, ran from the vehicle and jumped off the bridge over Harvard Avenue. Police say it was at least a 39-foot drop.

He had "multiple obviously broken bones and other serious injuries," records state.

The driver and back seat passenger were taken into custody.
